We're currently in predevelopment with Skyland Town Center and are working towards a PUD submission. The Skyland Town Center will revitalize a blighted strip retail center in DC's Ward 7 by constructing approximately 300,000 SF of ground floor retail with a large format general merchandise anchor and 462 condominium units (includes 20 town house units) overtop the ground floor retail. The District took the property via eminent domain starting in 2002. The District selected the Rappaport Companies, a leading Washington area retail developer, as the lead developer with Harrison-Malone Development, Washington East Foundation and Marshall Heights Community Development Organization as project partners.

WCS Construction, LLC is providing value engineering, budgets and pre-construction. Construction will start in the last quarter of 2009. Skyland will include 180,000 SF of retail space.

The project will be LEED certified and will utilize tax-increment financing and New Market Tax Credits. The project will exemplify how public-private partnerships can dramatically revitalize neighborhoods.
